This Temple is dedicated to Maa Ganga. Gangotri Temple is one of the Char Dhams. This temple is located on the right bank of Bhagirathi. The King Bhagirath is worshiped Lord Shiva and maa Ganges is started flowing on Lord Shiva. so, This river is also known as Bhagirathi.
