Yamunotri Temple is located on the opposite side of Gangotri Temple and this Temple is located near the starting point of Yamuna River. This Temple is surrounded by mountains and the source of the river is Frozen Lake and Glacier located at an altitude of 4421m.
The deity of Lord Yamuna is made of black marble. In this Temple with Lord Yamuna his Brother Yum. Yamunotri Temple was built by the King of Teri Gadhwal Pratap Shah. In the 19th century, the Temple was distorted by Earth-Quake. The reconstruction of this Temple was built by Maharani Gularia of Jaipur. The Temple is dedicated to the river Yamuna.
